Breathing In Autumn edition by Ava Deniz Literature Fiction eBooks
I found this love story very moving. It involves two adolescents. The girl, Autumn, is deaf and gets by by lip-reading. Her boyfriend, Jordan, is a grounded tear-away who falls for Autumn because she is beautiful, gifted, marginalised, and hyper-sensitive. He doesn’t want a fast girl and Autumn, over time, makes him care. It’s the material of young adult stories and as such will have a wide appeal. After some initial doubts about the number of typos in the book, I have come to the conclusion that Ava Deniz is probably writing in a second language. On most pages there are problems which are not just to do with the occasional slip. I will provide an example which appears about halfway through the book, near the beginning of Chapter 14 : “It is impressive that she is interested to not let her deafness get in her way of common things which I certainly have taken granted.” There are also problems with layout. Had the book been free of these matters I could have given four stars but for the moment can’t give more than two or three. I would recommend an editor and ghost-writer. I know of at least one novel that was meticulously corrected and won a prize.
It’s a shame the author of “Breathing In Autumn” has not had the novel proof-read because it is a very heart-felt book about young love. Of course, readers who have no problems with typos and other mistakes will find the novel touching even if somewhat over-sentimental. The book is very comprehensible despite its mistakes.
